DAY 2 June 28, 2005
By the way, I feel like such a tourist and I hate it. I'm never traveling again as a tourist. I enjoy living somewhere, or at least I will discover if I do next year. Yo quiero vivir en Madrid por un año. I think that I will like living in a cityand I will find that out after living in Seoul. I want to learn Spanish and I want to learn Spain Spanish.
We took the subway today, and we walked. My legs tell me that we walked and I have an amazing bruise over my knee from running into a short black pole that marks roads from sidewalks.
The air here is dry, arid...most of Spain is in a drought right now and it is screaming for water. My eyes even want water. I drank at least two Nalgene water bottles full and more. Thr problem is walking and drinking water with a lack of bathrooms. It sucks.
On the way home (hotel) from the walking tour of Madrid one of the girls from California, Jenna, broke into a seizure. At first I thought it was a joke, but then her sister was bawling and Jenna was on the ground shaking. Señora poured water on her head and a lady from Madrid, I think a nurse tried to keep her from choking. She turned blue in her lips for a monent. We are not supposed to tell her it was a seizure.
I arrived back at teh hotel around 9pm. We were here the first time at 2pm. Now it is near 11 and past my bedtime.

If you were in Humanities at Cannon Falls High School, you know this painting. I could not believe that I got to see the real thing.

Check out the trees in the background, the ones divided into sections. And dad, there is a crane. Holly says this is a post card kind of picture.

I'm finally getting around to making this blog, so I decided that the best way to start it would be to enter some of my journalings from the actual Spain trip...
DAY 1 June 27, 2005
The Plane! The first time I have been on a plane in fifteen years. I was only two years old and now I'll be 18 in less than three months. The wait before take off heightens the anticipation, but the clouds make up for everything. Some people say that taking pictures of the sky is a waste of time, but with my passion for that great mass of gases it was difficult to not fill my one gigabite memory stick. I only took less than ten. The flight to Atlanta was my first time out of the central time zone USA.
I saw mountains for the first time flying over SPAIN! The trip was long and tiring, but everyone knows that. Jaime was right; it is hard to sleep on a plane. Maybe on the way home I'll sit by Travis and use him as a pillow. Arrival in Madrid was about nine o'clock AM which began...
